The range of interventional treatment options for structural heart
diseases including congenital and valvular diseases has developed
rapidly over the last years. Catheter-based procedures have emerged
as a valuable alternative to medical and surgical therapy. Imaging,
with the focus on echocardiography, plays the major role in patient
selection, in intraprocedural guidance and in follow-up after the
intervention.
